Thank you to everyone who came to see me at the
Preservation Trades Network workshop in New
Castle.  I especially want to thank YOU for taking a
card and actually checking out the website.
Obviously it still needs a lot of work...and I now
understand why real businesses actually pay
someone else to run their websites!  I know I am late
with the promised
book list...but here is a start.  I will
add more commentary as time permits...and
hopefully the list itself will grow.
Here are a few blacksmithing products...as
always, it is just a start...
Here is a simple strap hinge, which was
surprisingly popular at the workshop.  I made this
as one of my class projects.  They can be bigger
or smaller and a little more "refined."  The pintle
pictured is meant to be driven into a heavy beam.
More modern applications could use a plate with
screw holes.
Here is the "leafy-rebar-thing" you may have
seen me working on.  I'm not sure exactly what
it's supposed to do...but I think it's doing a fine
job of it.
My first attempt at a drawknife.  I kind of gave up on
it when I discovered through grinding that the stock I
was using that I
thought was carbon steel turned out
to be mild steel.  Well, it was good practice anyway.

Blacksmithing...A
Work in Progress.
